Samson Tequir is a lifelong, self-taught Black artist from South Carolina who builds his work from what he observes in daily life and what rises from his inner world. Working mostly with pencil, ink, and acrylic, he creates images of buildings, people, and familiar scenes, as well as the ones shaped by his inner life.
